Dallas Urban Streetcar Circulator
Herzog was awarded the contract in 2013 to construct this nearly one mile urban streetcar extension in downtown Dallas. The project is a single-track extension of the existing M-line streetcar system. Herzog is building the fixed trackwork, traction power substations, OCS, and signaling systems. As expected in the proximity of a downtown area, extensive utility relocation work is being performed. The work runs through downtown Dallas which has multiple external constraints our team has addressed to ensure a safe environment for our crews and the public. Well-developed traffic control plans, in close coordination with DART and the city of Dallas, have been implemented to provide for the safe movement of pedestrians and vehicular traffic while we perform the streetcar extension work.
