Overview

As the prime contractor, Herzog managed the construction of the 0.65-mile urban streetcar extension in downtown Dallas, TX for DART. This single-track extension of the existing M-line streetcar system serves as a feeder line improving transit integration with the St. Paul Light Rail Station. Herzog was responsible for building the fixed trackwork, traction power substations, an overhead catenary system (OCS), and signaling systems under heavy vehicular traffic conditions. Due to extensive utility relocation work required in the area, Herzog advanced the schedule for utility verification as to not delay the start of construction.
