Overview
Archer Western Herzog JV is the prime contractor for the build of this new start commuter rail project—a 26-mile double-track system (52 track miles of ballasted track construction) with 10 stations extending between the Dallas/Fort Worth (DFW) International Airport and Shiloh Road in Plano. The alignment passes through three counties and seven cities: Grapevine, Coppell, Dallas, Carrollton, Addison, Richardson, and Plano and interchanges with three existing DART light rail transit lines (the Red/Orange lines in Plano, the Green Line in Downtown Carrollton, and the Orange Line at DFW) and Trinity Metro’s TEXRail Commuter Rail Line at DFW. Additional project elements include clearing and grubbing, civil works, and system and signals, inclusive of positive train control (PTC). Additional integration activities will be closely coordinated with Trinity Metro to allow full interoperability between the Silver Line and TEXRail commuter rail systems.
