Overview

Herzog was the managing JV partner for the construction of the A-Train commuter rail line which runs between Denton and Carrollton, TX. The line serves as an extension to the DART Green line at Trinity Mills station in Carrolton. Construction featured 21 miles of FRA Class IV single track installation with three passing sidings in a live track environment. Major project elements included the construction of an operations and maintenance facility, five new platforms, three park-and-ride facilities, and an eight-mile bike path. The team removed more than 63,000 feet of old track and implemented quiet zone-compliant warning systems for all at-grade crossings.
