Overview
This project was the first of two major commuter rail projects for Utah Transit Authority (UTA), providing passenger rail service from the Ogden Intermodal Center to the Salt Lake Central Station in downtown Salt Lake City. As part of a joint venture partnership, Herzog constructed the 44-mile project in an active Union Pacific Railroad corridor with no unplanned outages or delays to freight operations. Construction work included eight station platforms, park and ride facilities, two major flyover structures, drainage improvements, civil, ballasted trackwork, signal systems, and at-grade crossings.
