Overview
CM/GC 1 is a $1.2 billion transit development program for SANDAG which includes the construction of a light rail extension (Mid-Coast Corridor Transit Project), two commuter rail double-tracking projects, an arched roadway bridge over Interstate 5 (Gilman Bridge), the Rose Creek bikeway, and significant utility relocations. Herzog is part of the construction joint venture, Mid Coast transit Constructors (MCTC), that the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) selected to build the project. The light rail expansion will extend Blue Line service 11 miles north from the Santa Fe Depot in Old Town San Diego to the University City community. Seven miles of the project is located within a shared corridor with LOSSAN commuter rail and freight rail traffic. Portions of those lines will be double-tracked as part of this program.
