Overview
Herzog was the prime contractor for the construction of this 40-mile commuter rail expansion. The project was adjacent to BNSF and UPRR live track, where daily coordination of work activities was performed. These work activities included the construction of various storm drainage systems and structures, numerous live track tie-ins, new ballasted track, grading, utility relocation and protection, modification of two station platforms, and installation of new special trackwork. Quiet zone safety improvements were made at 52 at-grade railroad crossings that passed through nine cities.
