Herzog Railroad Services, Inc. – President
From the time he joined Herzog in 1974, Rob Crawford has amassed more than 40 years of experience in the railroad and heavy/highway industry. Rob’s work as a foreman and superintendent on asphalt projects across the U.S. earned him the appointment of Vice President for the railroad services division in 1989. When Herzog Railroad Services, Inc. was incorporated in 2010, he was named President and, for several years, concurrently served as Executive Vice President of all Herzog companies.
As President of Herzog Railroad Services, Rob provides management oversight for operations, research and development, equipment leasing, railcar repair, and maintenance-of-way services to Class I railroads. During his tenure, he has coordinated the development of Herzog’s innovative rail equipment including the Rail Unloading Machine, Multi-Purpose Machine, and high-speed GPS-controlled ballast trains which have revolutionized the railroad maintenance industry.
He is currently a member of national rail industry associations such as American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA), National Railroad Construction and Maintenance Association (NRC), and Railway Tie Association (RTA). Rob also serves as one of the three directors providing strategic oversight over all the Herzog companies.View all Leadership
