Alex McClain

Herzog Railroad Services, Inc. – Vice President of Marketing – Freight

Promoted to Vice President of Marketing – Freight in 2021, Alex McClain oversees all sales efforts, strategic partnerships, and business development for Herzog’s railroad maintenance-of-way services. Alex and his marketing team are responsible for cultivating and maintaining client relationships with roadmasters, division engineers, and executive leadership of Class I and short line railroads. He also works in tandem with Herzog’s operations and research and development (R&D) departments to provide railroads with equipment solutions that fit their needs.

Since joining Herzog as a Marketing Manager in 2011, Alex has delivered year-over-year growth for his key Class I accounts, demonstrating a strong record of sales success and leadership. He is a current member of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association (AREMA) with active involvement on the AREMA Track Functional Group Technical Committees 1 (Roadway & Ballast) and 30 (Ties). Alex is also a member of the North American Maintenance Railway Club and represents Herzog at various American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association (ASLRRA) events.
