Transporting Continuous
Welded Rail? Easy.
Continuous welded rail spine car
Most of North America’s continuous welded rail (CWR) transport fleet is aging and many trains aren’t able to be interchanged among non-owning railroads.
Herzog’s Gen II Rail Train was designed to be interchangeable, mounted with racks of flanged, steel rollers that allow easy movement of rails during the loading and unloading process.

Designed to be an Interchangeable tool
Designed with capacity, precision, and safety in mind, Herzog’s Gen II Rail Train transports CWR from its origin to job site efficiently while reducing overhead.
Interchangeable among all Class 1 railroads and compatible with any unloading system, our train makes it easy to load and unload rail from either end of the train. When combined with the RUM and ATC, there is no need for personnel to hook or unbolt rail.
