April Shoutouts

HRSI EASTON ROAD SHOP + MECHANICAL R&D – Herzog Railroad Services, Inc. is on the verge of completing the construction of its sixth Automated Conveyor Train℠ (ACT). Come May, ACT 6 will be delivered to a Class 1 customer for a major new track construction project. For this model, the gate system was completely redesigned. The ACT now offers a 28% increased ballast flow rate and is capable of unloading base rock. Spearheaded by lead engineer Colton Lee and led by shop manager Jerry Caylor, the buildout has been executed with an aggressive schedule. Shop crews have been working diligently to get the newest ACT to market. Thank you, HRSI team for your vision, dedication, and commitment to excellence!

TEXRAIL – Congratulations to our Maintenance-of-Way team at TEXRail for, as of 4/24/23  working 1,000 days injury free. They are owning their 20 square feet every single day and the results show. Great Job!

HTI & HRSI – Congratulations to the 32 high school students from the St. Joseph, MO area who have been selected for the Hillyard Technical Center apprenticeship program this year. Recruiting Manager Heidi Sweeney attended the signing ceremony and was honored to offer these talented students opportunities to further their technical skills. We’re especially thrilled to welcome Jett Winn and Brendan Barton to Herzog, two exceptional individuals with bright futures ahead of them. Jett, who is studying computer science, will begin an internship in technology services, while Brendan will become a welding apprentice for our railroad services division. We wish all the students the very best of luck as they embark on this exciting journey toward their future careers!
