Dave has 40+ years of experience in construction, including 33 years supervising LRT, streetcar, heavy rail, commuter rail, and other rail construction projects. He leads Herzog’s track construction efforts across North America and is tasked with assembling optimal field teams for all track installation. Since joining the team in 1991, Dave has overseen work on more than 20 rail projects during his tenure at Herzog including the MBTA Green Line Extension, CTDOT CP243 Interlocking / Danbury Dockyard Improvements, CTDOT Replacement of Walk Bridge over the Norwalk River, FDOT Central Florida Commuter Rail Transit Phase 2 South (SunRail 2), SMART IOS 1 and 1a Design-Build, and Frontrunner North and South CM/GC.

Prior to Herzog, Dave worked on several large CM/GC projects as a subcontractor to Herzog and spent four years performing maintenance-of-way work for the Burlington Northern Railroad.

He is a proven general superintendent/construction manager and railroad trackwork construction manager. He coordinates well with agencies, owners, stakeholders, and subcontractors on challenging, tightly scheduled projects, including those where his crews are operating under live-track conditions. Dave’s projects have earned outstanding safety records with timely completion.

In 2023, Dave was honored with the Golden Beaver Supervision Award by the Beavers, a prestigious social and honorary organization comprised of industry professionals. This recognition adds to Dave’s impressive track record, which includes being named the 2012 NRC Field Employee of the Year in recognition of his remarkable achievement of maintaining a perfect safety record over two million man-hours worked.
