Jim Hanlon

Herzog Technologies, Inc. – President

In 2019, Jim Hanlon was named President of Herzog Technologies, Inc. Jim provides leadership for Herzog’s technological initiatives in the areas of traditional wayside and communication; Positive Train Control (PTC); GIS survey and mapping; and custom software development. In total, these various programs are intended to continue Herzog’s drive to provide customers with innovative solutions.

Jim has spent his 20+ year career working with the nation’s freight and passenger carriers in various capacities. From construction to maintenance, design to delivery, project management to executive oversight, Jim has been involved in all aspects of the rail industry and understands the technical and operational challenges railroads face.

His Herzog career began in 2011 via a company acquisition with the new company being rebranded as Herzog Technologies, Inc. Post-acquisition, Jim continued to hold management positions of increasing responsibility for complex systems design, construction, maintenance, and PTC implementation projects.

Prior to his latest promotion, Jim held the position of Vice President of Rail Systems. In that role, he led the Herzog PTC group, growing it from a handful of employees in 2012 to a team of over 70+ professionals, servicing more than a dozen different railroads today.
