Jim Hanlon

Herzog Technologies, Inc. – Senior Vice President of Product Development

Jim has spent his 25+ year career working with the nation’s freight and passenger carriers in various capacities. From construction to maintenance, design to delivery, project management to executive oversight, Jim has been involved in all aspects of the rail industry and understands the technical and operational challenges railroads face.

His Herzog career began in 2011 via a company acquisition with the new company being rebranded as Herzog Technologies, Inc. Post-acquisition, Jim continued to hold management positions of increasing responsibility for complex systems design, construction, maintenance, and PTC implementation projects.

In previous leadership roles within Herzog, Jim guided Herzog’s technological initiatives in traditional wayside and communication; Positive Train Control (PTC), GIS survey and mapping, and custom software development. Jim was a key member of the Herzog PTC group, growing it from a handful of employees in 2012 to a team of over 70+ professionals, servicing nearly twenty railroads today.

In his latest role as Senior Vice President of Product Development, and as a testament to Herzog’s Safety Without Compromise culture, Jim is responsible for Herzog Technologies’ leading-edge technology programs focused on improving safety on and around the railroad right-of-way.
