Herzog Contracting Corp. – Senior Vice President of Heavy Highway Division

As the senior vice president of Herzog’s Heavy Highway division, Kyle Phillips is responsible for all personnel, equipment, and contract oversight for highway/heavy civil construction throughout North America ranging in value from $1.5 million to $100 million.

Under his leadership, Kyle ensures that all projects are constructed safely, on time, and under budget. As a result, each year, top industry associations and state DOTs recognize Herzog’s Heavy Highway division with industry awards for its exemplary safety record and successful approach to quality management.

Kyle began his career at Herzog in 1994 as a laborer on railroad maintenance projects. He quickly progressed to supervisor and provided managerial support for Herzog’s railcar repair facility for three years. Kyle transitioned into field engineering and estimating roles for the Heavy Highway division. In 2009, he was appointed Vice President of Herzog’s Civil Division. In 2020 Kyle was appointed to Senior Vice President of Herzog Heavy/Highway, where he remains today in oversight of all personnel and equipment for highway/civil construction.

Kyle excels in construction field operations and is proficient in his knowledge of materials and construction equipment. He also enjoys interfacing with public and private owners and mentoring employees.

Kyle graduated from the University of Missouri with a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. He currently serves on the board of directors for several industry associations including the AGC of America, AGC of Missouri, and the Missouri Asphalt Pavement Association.
