Tim Shipley
Herzog Railroad Services, Inc. – Vice President of Rail Handling Operations
As Vice President of Rail Handling Operations, Tim Shipley is responsible for contract development and rail handling operations in the U.S. and Canada for Herzog’s Rail Unloading Machine (RUM) division. From its infancy to today, Tim has led the expansion of Herzog’s fleet of rail handling equipment solutions and training of specialized operators including road-to-rail capable RUM units, continuous welded rail (CWR) trains, and Automated Tie-Down Cars (ATCs). His employees remain focused on safety, uptime dependability, high production, and impeccable compliance with railroad and DOT rules and regulations.
Prior to assuming his operations responsibilities in 2006, Tim traveled throughout North America as a ballast systems specialist performing ROW surveys, ballast unloading, equipment maintenance, and new operator training.
Before joining Herzog, Tim worked as an intern for Burns & McDonnell creating a GIS database for the Kansas Department of Transportation that contained over 60 points of information about every railroad grade crossing in the state of Kansas.
Tim graduated from Northwest Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science in Geography. He is a member of the North American Railway Maintenance Club and American Railway Engineering and Maintenance-of-Way Association.
