Spirit of giving alive and well at Herzog

‘Holiday with a Hero’ spreads joy and unity in Northwest Missouri

This past December, twenty St. Joseph area Herzog employees helped spread a little cheer in the third annual Holiday with a Hero, a community program Herzog supports that matches students with first responders (law enforcement, fire, and EMS) for a holiday shopping trip. Nearly 500 students bought gifts for themselves and their families.

Our volunteers devoted their time to wrapping presents, bagging items at checkout, and loading items into cars. Just as Holiday with a Hero serves as a testament to Herzog’s support of our community, our employee’s participation underscores their dedication to our cultural belief of ”Passion for the Customer.” By taking on tasks that allow first responders to concentrate on the shopping experience, our employees provided them with a special opportunity to build connections with students. They not only helped brighten the holiday season for many kids but have also reinforced the values that unite us as a professional family.

Caltrain’s Holiday Train returned for its annual toy drive in California

Our stellar TransitAmerica Services, Inc. staff helped out once again with Caltrain’s annual toy drive. Partnering with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program and The Salvation Army, attendees were able to drop off new toys and books for families in need during the holidays. The Holiday Train schedule went from Saturday, December 2nd to Sunday, December 3rd. They visited nine different Caltrain stations throughout the San Francisco, San Mateo, and Santa Clara counties.

Caltrain indicated that the Holiday Train is decorated with more than 75,000 lights! During each station stop, kids and adults alike sang along with the carolers and the Salvation Army Christmas Brass band, Ensemble. Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, and many other members of their jolly family, including Frosty the Snowman and Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, joined in on the fun, hopping off at each station, taking photos with the attendees and spreading holiday cheer.
