On May 29, Herzog attended the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT)’s official groundbreaking ceremony for the SunRail Phase 2 North Design Build project in Florida. While design has been in process for the past year, our project team is excited that the construction phase is finally here. The project will extend the SunRail commuter rail service by an additional 12 miles north to DeLand, FL, from its current terminus at DeBary Station. With this expansion, the existing Central Florida Rail Corridor will receive civil, structural, track, and systems improvements, all designed to enable SunRail trains to operate at an impressive speed of 79 mph. We are grateful to be part of this project and look forward to working hand in hand with local communities, stakeholders, and our dedicated team to bring FDOT’s transit vision to life.
