Overview

This new start commuter rail project included 21 miles ballasted single track with three passing sidings, 16 pieces of special trackwork, five station platforms and three park and ride facilities, 12 rail bridges, 43 road crossings, a 10-mile bike path with six pedestrian bridges, 352,000 cy of earthwork, a 56,000 sf three-bay operations and maintenance facility, and final testing and commissioning for system start-up. A new PTC-compatible design for signals and communications, radio communication, and dispatch were part of this project’s scope.
