Overview
In 2017, Herzog was awarded a streetcar operations and maintenance contract for the new, downtown Oklahoma City (OKC) Streetcar and provided full mobilization and startup services for the service. The streetcar runs in mixed traffic on a public right-of-way that is owned by the City of Oklahoma City. Two routes are operated and referred to as the Downtown loop, or D-line and the Bricktown loop, or B-line. The D-line connects Midtown to Downtown and Bricktown and has 13 stations along its 4.8-mile route. The B-line operates in the business, tourist and convention area servicing nine stations along its 2.04-mile route. A unique feature of this system is that the fleet’s seven vehicles are capable of being powered by an overhead contact wire or by an onboard energy storage system.
