Overview

This streetcar project is a single-track extension of the existing historic McKinney Avenue Transit Authority (MATA) M-Line streetcar system to complete the guideway loop to allow continuous forward moving transportation in downtown Dallas through the Arts District. Work included removal of existing street pavement, construction of 0.65 miles of embedded in-street running trackwork, overhead catenary system (OCS), traction power substations (TPSS), signaling systems, underground utility work, street rehabilitation, concrete sidewalk and Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ramps, curb and gutter, pavement markings and signage, and power supply for the new signals, traffic and pedestrian traffic control.
