Overview
This new-start commuter rail project included 40.5 miles of new concrete tie ballasted track within an existing railroad right-of-way, clearing and grubbing, subgrade and track bed improvements, installation of a single mainline track, four sidings, and special trackwork, bridge construction (nine replacements and 17 rehabilitated), 62 grade crossings, signals, communications, and Positive Train Control (PTC), extensive drainage work (over 100 transverse culverts), retaining walls, and eight level boarding station substructures.
